Background

Colin joins Fernandes Hearn LLP after articling in Halifax with a full-service Atlantic-Canada based firm of over 200 lawyers. During his articles, Colin acquired experience in business law, commercial litigation, maritime law, insurance and property.

Colin attended law school at Dalhousie University. He received Certificates of Specialization both in Business Law and Marine Law. He also received the Milton and Carole Ehrlich Prize for obtaining the highest marks in Law of the Sea. While at law school, Colin was an executive member of Domus Legis, Canada's oldest law student society. He also participated with Pro-Bono Canada and was captain of the Men's Intramural Basketball Team.

In 2004, Colin obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree, also from Dalhousie University. He received the Commerce Alumni Association Award for the highest GPA of all International Business majors. Colin acted as President of the Dalhousie Commerce Society and is the founder of the Dalhousie Business Ethics Case Competition, which is one of the largest forums of its kind in North America for business students to learn about the importance of business ethics.
